The SF Office of Cannabis wishes everyone a safe and healthy 420. We wanted to provide a follow-up on the eve of the big day by providing a couple of important reminders. As you know by now, the annual 420 gathering in Golden Gate Park is cancelled. People seeking to celebrate 420 should do so responsibly at home, order product from a locally permitted and licensed retailer offering delivery, refrain from sharing products (pre-rolls, vaporizers) with others, and leverage some of the virtual opportunities available online.
Operators can anticipate increased community vigilance with regards to running afoul of social distancing. This, however, creates an opportunity for the industry and other cannabis stakeholders to shine by acting responsibly. The industry can showcase its ability to come together to abide by applicable laws, regulations, and health orders as we collectively navigate this pandemic, all while providing the community with essential product. Thank you for your continued cooperation and partnership.
These are the important details we want you to take away:
1) Use this highly visible celebration as an opportunity to meet the moment and shine as responsible operators and individuals;
2) Make sure your Social Distancing Protocol is easily viewable to the public.
3) Inform your entire Bay Area networks (see E-40s message here) not to celebrate 420 in San Francisco parks or any parks; and
4) Wear a cloth facial covering when going outside.
As of March 31, 2020, the “Shelter in Place” order was extended through May 3, 2020. Thank you in advance for continuing to observe the order. Please feel free to reference prior guidance: here, here, and here. The City’s response to COVID-19 is ongoing and the OOC will continue to stay in touch with its stakeholders. With that, have a wonderful 420 and we will be in touch.
Sincerely,
San Francisco Office of Cannabis
